Ahead of a huge summer of football, BOOST has announced its official sponsorship of Faversham Town FC, the only town in the country with rights to use the Royal Coat of Arms of England as its crest.
The sponsorship has been revealed in a hilarious video fronted by double-capped Faversham Town FC player and rumoured strongest man in football, Adebayo Akinfenwa – AKA The Beast. The video features local fans and players explaining the club’s unique piece of trivia.
What makes the club particularly unique is its crest. Dating back to 13th century, in return for the town’s services to the King Edward I, his royal highness granted the town the privilege of using his Royal arms, without variation, as its own. This is believed to make Faversham Town FC the only club in the country with this crest.
Situated in Kent, Faversham Town FC is one of the oldest clubs in England, founded in 1884 they are a semi-professional football club competing in the ninth tier of the English football pyramid, the Southern Counties East Football League (SCEFL).
The sponsorship agreement for the 24/25 season will see BOOST become the club’s official hydration partner and back of shirt sponsor (perfect for The Poznan celebration). The brand throughout the season will be giving both the fans and players a lift, ensuring they stay energised on and off the pitch.
As other brands clamour to have their logos adorn the kits and collateral of the biggest teams and tournaments in European football, BOOST has chosen to focus on its commitment to championing local, everyday heroes with this grassroots partnership.
Beyond demonstrating its support for those who truly embody the spirit of the game, BOOST’s sponsorship strategy helps it maintain unrivalled value across its functional energy, isotonic and iced coffee drinks ranges as large-scale competitor sponsorship often cost the consumer in the price of their products on shelf.
Adebayo Akinfenwa commented, “Faversham Town FC. is a club I know and love having been a part of the squad here last season, I can’t sing the club’s praises enough. So, when BOOST told me they were getting behind the team, I was buzzing to be involved. It’s a well-run, proper local football club that is an absolute pillar of the community. It’s refreshing to see a big brand like BOOST recognise the importance of grassroots football and their sponsorship will go a long way in supporting the club.”
Anjna Mistry, Brand Controller at Boost Drinks said, “We’re proud to announce our sponsorship of Faversham Town FC, a local club with a proud history where many of the squad work full-time jobs alongside their football career. This campaign for us is the perfect opportunity to champion the everyday unsung heroes of the game. Whether you play sport at the highest level, enjoy Sunday league with your mates, or simply play 5-aside after work with your mates, there’s a BOOST for that!”
Gary Smart, Chairman of Faversham Town FC said: “Having a major brand like BOOST come on board and supporting our club and local town is fantastic. BOOST shares our values of community, passion, and dedication to the game. Together, we’re ready to make this season one to remember as we aim to climb up the English football ladder!”
The announcement comes hot on the heels of a strong season for Faversham Town FC, who battled their way to a play-off semi-final in the Southern Counties East Football League and will be hoping to build on their success in the coming season, hydrated and energised by BOOST.
